Project objectives and scope

Objectives

The objectives of this project are to:

  • Implement core Azure Information Protection (AIP) capabilities that can help you manually protect your data.
  • Define and implement a classification and labeling strategy for the organization. Such a strategy can give you the ability to perform automatic data protection that is based on content type. For example, you will be able to detect that credit card information has been entered into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet and automatically classify, label, and help protect that spreadsheet.
  • Define and implement a data-discovery approach using AIP scanner. This can help you discover unprotected documents on premises. For example, if someone already saved the documents unprotected by AIP, an AIP scanner policy could discover such documents and protect them either manually or automatically, or both.
  • Determine a migration strategy from AD RMS architecture to Azure RMS
