Job Description

Will assist product development group with making standards, dilutions and creating samples.

May also assist in aspects of pilot and production testing.

Will be asked to prepare and/or analyze beverage samples for a variety of chemical parameters using established methodologies.

The successful candidate will have flexibility and the ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities.

Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, willingness to help team when needed, strong communication skills, able to be on feet for long periods of time, consistent and detailed in chemistry laboratory functions.

Must have steel-toed boots upon starting position training, and degree in Chemistry.

Comments/Special Instructions
This REQ is a request for a Laboratory Technician to support at the Facility in Watertown, WI.

The position is being posted as a CW role, but has the possibility of becoming a fulltime role.

The ideal candidate will have previous lab tech experience.

Routine Laboratory Analysis:

The Associate Chemist will be trained and competent in all routine analytical procedures necessary to plant operation. The Associate Chemist will perform the routine functions when the Resource Chemist is absent and assist in these functions during times of peak demand.

Þ Coordinate collection and disposal of samples.

Þ Perform laboratory sample preparation, analysis and process calculations.

Þ Instrumentation knowledge required- HPLC; UV - Spectrometer; GC

Þ Assemble production and analysis information from the lab and production floor.

Þ Purchase chemical supplies and equipment for the laboratory and certify receipts against specifications.

Þ Calibrate laboratory equipment.

Þ Assist with tracking and counting monthly inventory

Þ Record all data in both computer data base and paper files Safety

As a trained professional in Chemistry safety related responsibilities include:

Þ Performing an annual chemical inventory and audit of MSDS sheets.

Þ Presenting technical information on chemical safety at monthly safety meetings

Þ Assuring that all chemicals in the facility are labeled in accordance with the facility's Hazard Communication Policy.

Office Skills Knowledge of Microsoft office Excel; Word and PowerPoints.
