The Core BizOps team is seeking an Engineer who will join a team of Site Reliability Engineers and Support Technicians. This team is responsible for day to day platform availability, Tier 2 & 3 support, defect resolutions, CI/CD pipelines, customer integrations (APIs, batch processing). The Biz Ops team emphasizes the collaboration and communication of both software developers and other IT professionals while automating the process of software delivery and infrastructure changes. It aims at establishing a culture and environment where building, testing, and releasing software, can happen rapidly, frequently, and more reliably. You need insights into applications, interfaces and technologies to foster a culture of collaboration between developers and operations people who have been increasingly separated in the past couple of years.

Business Operations is leading the DevOps transformation at Mastercard through our tooling and by being an advocate for change & standards throughout the development, quality, release, and product organizations. We need a team member with an appetite for change and pushing the boundaries of what can be done with monitoring and automation. Experience in working across development, operations, and product teams to prioritize needs and to build relationships is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Support the four pillars of the Core organization: Serve our Customers, Operational Excellence in Engineering, Re-Platforming, and Cultivating Talent & Culture.
  • Analyze ITSM activities of the platform and provide feedback loop to development teams on operational gaps or resiliency concerns • Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and overall system health.
  • Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation, and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity.
  • Knowledge in processes for debugging/optimize code and automating routine tasks.
  • Experience in one or more of the following is preferred: Scripting, SQL, Batch Processing, Java.
  • Interest in designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
  • An appetite for change and pushing the boundaries of what can be done with automation. Experience in working across development, operations, and product teams to prioritize needs and to build relationships is a must.
