Pricing Analyst

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the expansion of our fast-growing procurement solution capabilities. Candidate will develop, enhance, and grow our analysis and forecasts with specific emphasis on translating insights into relevant, actionable client solutions.
In this role, you will provide actionable insights to support decision-making and strategic considerations for clients in the pricing and purchasing function:




  • Frame and analyze a global industry market (to be assigned) with a particular focus on prices
    • Forecast near-term prices for a global buying audience
    • Actively participate in forecast model development efforts, including equation estimation and forecast process optimization
    • Coordinate modeling and forecast processes with other internal teams
    • Create monthly and quarterly reports with emphasis on context and market relevance
    • Respond to clients' research-related questions by providing thought leadership and timely insight
    • Present forecasts to clients, at conferences and engage with media
    • Support sales efforts




The incumbent economist provides actionable insights to clients in the global pricing and purchasing function based upon economic fundamentals. This person will monitor, analyze and forecast prices and costs in an assigned industry, such as building materials. This group supports a subscription-based business and therefore we forecast, write and answer client questions to support the product(s) that clients subscribe to.

Pricing and Purchasing Service delivers vital price, cost and inflation information that can help companies recognize millions of dollars in cost savings. Our forecasts and analysis allow them to more effectively negotiate with their suppliers and better time key purchases. Additionally, we pull apart their supplier's cost structures, providing in-depth analysis of prices, costs, demand, productivity, and margins giving them added leverage in contract negotiations.





Qualifications:
• BA in economics
• 0-3 years' experience in price analysis or purchasing function
• Strong and adaptable research and analytical skills, including ability to interpret data and research, and write/produce structured, compelling reports
• Statistical / modeling experience, preferably in EViews
• Coordination skills; ability to prioritize own workload and work to deadlines and under pressure
• Excellent English speaking and writing capabilities
• Strong team spirit
• Customer-focused background
