Event Planner/Project Coordinator

Opportunity Overview

Responsibility Summary

  • Support the firm's corporate charitable giving and support for causes - including but not exclusive to the Alzheimer's Association relationship

  • Serve as administrative coordinator of updates to and with the Alzheimer's Association local (in St. Louis) and national (in Chicago) representatives

  • Lead successful event planning and communication for three local St. Louis area Walks to End Alzheimer's

  • Coordinate the national network engagement of more than 250 region coordinators to ensure participation and results reporting for the companies support of local market Walks to End Alzheimer's

  • Partner with outside agencies/vendors to execute strategies in alignment with Marketing-Reputation Management priorities

  • Analyze feedback from end users and work with subject matter experts to improve web page content and usability

  • Ensure consistent corporate citizenship messages are delivered to internal and external audiences

  • Promote and maintain mutually beneficial and collaborative relationships across departments and divisions

Daily Activities

  • Contractor will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment collaborating with team and business areas to meet weekly deadlines

  • Contractor will utilize efficient and accurate organizational skills to help meet individual and group goals

  • Contractor will work closely with Alzheimer's and Corporate Citizenship teams to determine reporting and execute events and communication surrounding corporate charitable giving strategies in accordance with Marketing standards and web/presentation design principles.

  • Contractor should be able to work autonomously in ambiguous situations and deliver on short deadlines.

  • Contractor may also be utilized to complete various administrative tasks to manage General Partner's calendar, monitor communication and coordinate team travel.

Preferred Work Schedule/Hours 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Position Requirements

  • Minimum of three or more years of demonstrated experience in event management, marketing or communication

  • Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to explore different paths to achieve an outcome and ability to adapt to change

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and processes in a dynamic, matrix environment

  • Effectively build strong relationships to influence and gain consensus with peers

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel

  • Familiarity with design principles and ability to reinforce brand standard


  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations or event management preferred or a combination of education, training and experience equivalent to an undergraduate degree

  • Certified meeting professional (CMP) distinction a plus
