Instrument & Controls Mechanical Technician





3 Month contract-to-possible hire

Responsibilities:



  • Reads, interprets and works from blueprints, drawings, sketches, plans, specifications and technical illustrations as well as verbal instructions

  • Performs skilled repair work on wastewater treatment plant equipment and instruments

  • Inspects, repairs and maintains electrical and/or electro-mechanical operating and control systems, equipment and fixtures

  • Inspects, maintains and repairs wiring and lighting systems, electrical control equipment, meters, outlets, and panels

  • Installs new equipment, interprets oral and written instructions, specifications, wiring diagrams and codes

  • Establishes and maintains scheduled electrical maintenance program for the plant's equipment

  • Repair electrical and electronic instruments

  • Exercises independent judgment in solving normal work problems under general supervision of Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Supervisor or Project Manager using standard and special electrical tools and equipment

  • Keeps electrical maintenance records, prepares labor and material estimates

  • Utilize our CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to document work applied to specific Assets

  • Understands the mathematics of electricity and machines

  • Follows oral and written instructions. Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with those contacted during the course of work

  • Performs other duties as required.



Qualifications:


To provide a range of custom-tailored operations and maintenance solutions at our client's Wastewater Treatment Plant in Vancouver, WA. Our I&C Mechanic Specialist career path provides you with an opportunity to act as a vital part of our operations contract, taking personal responsibility for the safety and success at our project.


Will perform electrical repair and maintenance at our client's site. This would include working with a SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) system to monitor, troubleshoot and repair control issues.


Primarily Rockwell/Allen Bradley PLC based systems.


Process control valves, actuators, positioners, as well as many process instruments and transmitters will need to be maintained and calibrated.


Must be able to read and write English.



Additional Requirements:



  • High school diploma or GED

  • 3-5 yrs. experience in maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment

  • 3-5 yrs. experience repairing process control valves and associated hardware

  • Valid Driver's License with no major infractions in the past 5 years
