Job Description


Basic Purpose:
To support and produce interactive and web components implementing code standards and best practices.

Scope:
• Responsible for supporting 10 or more client production projects per year including communications.
• Key participant on account teams.
• Leads and represents approach and solution development as it pertains to front-end production.
• Produces, directs, and coordinate with a variety of team participants.

Job Responsibility - Time Spent(%)-
Front-end Web Development:
• 60% Build web user interface and functionality ensuring browser compatibility using HTML, CSS, Angular
• 10% Build HTML emails that display properly in many email clients
• 10% Translates Photoshop Comps into working HTML - 10%
• 10% Understands and applies software and web application functionality, navigation, usability, and site architecture
• 10% Interacts with the project team and project managers during software development lifecycle to maintain usability, site functionality, and implementation of best practices

Professional Development:
• Participate in ongoing training to maintain and improve development skills. Read newsletters, blogs and other material to stay aware of the latest technologies and trends.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in a related field, Web Development, Computer Science
• 5+ years of experience in front-end web development.
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Responsible
• Team player, supportive and respectful of co-workers
• Self-directing/can work independently
• Resourceful
• Flexible/Not resistant to change
• Prioritize and juggle workload on many projects at one time

Computer Skills:
• MAC or PC

Main Skill Competencies:
• Able to develop hand-coded HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3 and JavaScript.
• Experience with jQuery, Bootstrap, LESS, JSON objects and REST API. Angular.js nice to have.
• Experience building sites using responsive and adaptive design is very important.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, especially debugging and browser/platform compatibility testing.
• Experience using versioning software/repositories such as Subversion and Git
• Familiarity with TFS (Team Foundation Server)
• Employs coding best practices
• Familiarity with usability standards
• Solid communication skills
• Experience building mobile web applications, native apps a big plus
• Ability to hand-code html emails according to best practices (responsive/mobile emails a plus)
• Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team
• Creative thinker - able to evaluate multiple approaches to solve a single problem
• Strong command of Firebug and/or Chrome Developer Tools
