Job Description

Overview

  • Department is responsible for developing and executing strategic market and branch insight projects that generate actionable insights to help better service our clients.
  • Projects may vary from identifying insights for client segments to better understanding investor financial needs and market sentiment insights to specific product launches to branch best practices and other firm initiatives.
  • Research is conducted with clients, prospective clients, Financial Advisors, BOAs and firm associates using a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods

Responsibility Summary

  • Responsible for designing and executing strategic market insights projects that generate actionable insights to help us better serve our clients, in partnership with Research Strategists.
  • Projects will support individual business areas.
  • Guide business areas through the market insights process to determine the most efficient and effective research designs to their business problems.
  • Monitors project execution, including establishing and tracking project metrics and conducting project evaluation.
  • Provides approval at key tactical milestones, including project design, execution phases, and approval of results.
  • Identify, guide, and partner with external vendors to execute market insights projects, as needed.
  • Understand, analyze, synthesize, curate and interpret marketing research syndicated data and apply critical thinking as to how it might apply to business areas.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing Research or related study
  • Strong and demonstrated critical thinking, strategic thinking (outside of the box thinker), process improvement, relationship-building and problem-solving abilities
  • Must be highly collaborative
  • Minimum of 5+ years experience in strategic market research or business analysis OR 3+ years of market research or business analysis in the financial services industry
  • Detailed understanding of both qualitative and quantitative marketing research methodologies and sampling designs; desire to deepen understanding of current and emerging techniques
  • Strong writing and communication
  • Proficient with statistical techniques and analytical software such as SPSS (SPSS is strongly preferred), Excel and other statistical software used to analyze data and calculate statistical difference and confidence intervals
  • Excel: proficiency with pivot tables, advanced formulas, V look ups
  • High level of understanding of data processing including data cleansing, coding, and tabulation
  • Able to synthesize information from multiple sources to develop conclusions and recommendations
  • High-level knowledge of available syndicated research
  • High-level knowledge of the financial services' industry's key competitors and their brand positions

Preferred:

  • Masters' of Marketing Research (MMR) - strongly preferred
  • Experience utilizing Qualtrics
