Network Engineer

This is a Network Engineer role in Deerfield, IL.

Basic Networking:

  • Store architecture that includes; Stacked switches, UTM (L2/L3 firewall), AP's for wireless access
  • Switching, routing, NAT'ing, BGP, QoS, and other various basic protocols
  • Ability to configure switch and AP's for RADIUS/TACACS client and NAD access
  • Ability to troubleshoot wired and wireless access
  • Proficiency in wireless tunable parameters to optimize RF
  • Experience with Network Management and Monitoring solution

Nice to have - defined as a candidate that has the above networking proficiency, however we believe we can quickly ramp up the candidate on Aruba specific functions below.

  • Converting/Create golden switch configuration
  • ZTP/Prestage using Airwave
  • Leverage Airwave for
    • Running reports
    • Troubleshooting analysis, basic health of clients
    • Wired/Wireless IDS correlation to quickly identify source of Rogue device
    • Monitoring/Management of switch stack and AP's

Responsibilities:

This person will be tasked with building out a network environment the way it would look in production and then roll it out to a handful of stores to make sure there are no major issues present. So, putting a design together, making sure all the customer's apps, voice traffic, etc is working properly without hiccups to customers or employees in the stores. The design will not be high level architecture, they have a design in place and they need someone with a background and understanding of the components of the design.

Resident Engineer that will be on site (at least part time) and able to instruct and help with the design and configurations of their wired and wireless network.

HPE is replacing Cisco across the board and they don't have the HPE resource on hand to complete the work. The ideal candidate would be someone that has done a Cisco to HPE Aruba migration before.
