Description


Manages the sales of Basler Electric products in the territories assigned. Provides overall management for the territory. Manages and directs the selection and development of independent manufacturer's rep organizations and direct sales personnel required to support sales in the assigned market segment and sales territories. Manages the corresponding application staff to support Customers and achieve our objectives in the territory. Reports to: Manager of Sales (Power Systems Group) or Vice President of Sales & Marketing (Magnetics Group)


Essential Duties



  • In conjunction with the Sales management team, develop and implement sales strategies for the territory.

  • Manage direct Sales personnel and/or independent manufacturer's rep organizations to provide effective sales coverage.

  • Manage all Basler personnel assigned to the territory to ensure success and growth in the region.

  • Provide necessary direction and training to direct sales personnel and/or independent manufacturer's rep organizations on appropriate products, selling techniques, account strategies, and negotiating.

  • Maintain contacts with major accounts in the assigned market segment.

  • Recruit, select, and terminate all sales personnel, as required. This may include both independent and direct Sales Reps.

  • Take the lead on commercial items in the territory, including contracts, purchase agreements, product returns, commissions, expedite requests, and related items.

  • Provide sales forecasts and participate in the determination of market potential in the assigned market segment.

  • Prepare and submit sales budget and oversee all sales costs.

  • Prepare sales plans to support marketing strategies.

  • Obtain and report information for potential new products in the assigned territory to Marketing department.

  • Attend and assist in trade organization functions as required.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and/or a technical equivalence degree preferred.

  • Working knowledge of power systems as it pertains to the assigned market segment.

  • Previous experience as a Sales Manager of a technical product preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in account sales or marketing.

  • Travel up to 50% in the assigned territories.
