Job Description

Senior Network Engineer



Senior network engineer is responsible as part of a team for the design, installation, configuration, maintenance and support of the organization's global 24x7 High Availability transaction oriented LAN and WAN infrastructure.




This role is challenging and complex. The assignments will require considerable initiative and someone that understands implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions.




This Engineer will propose methods and procedures on new assignments and act as an informal leader.



Responsibilities:



  • Compliance with existing information security practices and ascertain compliance with security, safety, and environmental guidelines

  • Collaborate with a team of Network Engineers, LAN Administrators and RF staff regarding ongoing network design, configuration, testing, documentation, and implementation activities

  • Work with vendors and service providers for the definition and selection of new or upgraded services

  • Rapid identification of network problems and root cause, and to initiate corrective action as appropriate

  • Determination of priority of action and additional internal resources required, based on severity of service interruption

  • Provide technical analysis to any affected customers to isolate issues and develop strategies to restore or activate services

  • Generate reports on network performance, trouble-shooting results, and routine maintenance of network elements using existing tools

  • Ability to translate business requirements into network requirements and collaboratively work with other technical teams to deliver an overall solution.

  • Participate in advanced network project tasks with internal and external clients

  • Provide mentorship to entry/lower level team members



Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field, or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum experience of 8+ Years in routing/switching/data center technologies

  • Cisco Routing and Switching Technologies and Products (ISR and ASR routers)

  • Cisco Data Center Technologies and Products (Nexus 7K and 5K, and Catalyst)

  • F5 Load Balancers (LTM and GTM)

  • Cisco ASA Firewalls (55xx)

  • Cisco Prime or NCS (v3.x)

  • NMS systems and tools (CA Spectrum, Harvester, SNMP)

  • Dynamic Routing - Configure industry standard dynamic routing protocols including but not limited to BGP, OSPF and EIGRP.

  • WAN optimization and QoS - Global MPLS network carrying voice and data.

  • Load Balancing - Global DNS load balancing and local application load balancing.
