Job Description

This position will report to the Sr. Manager - Procurement Sourcing and support the Corporate Procurement team as well as internal clients with the review, negotiation and drafting of a high volume of supplier contracts. This individual contributor role provides assistance with contract management and contract administration and special projects as needed. The Procurement Sourcing Manager must communicate effectively with suppliers, the legal team and all levels of management.


  • Review contract requirements and proposals received from business owners.

  • Should be able to understand contract terms and conditions and red line documents.

  • Will work with contract negotiations, existing agreements, create SOW for contracts, will handle new RFPs and RFIs.

  • Be able to interface and work with legal.

  • Will need to have proven negotiation skill.

  • Receive contract requests and work with appropriate business owners to define contract requirements.

  • Draft contracts using the appropriate approved ESI templates incorporating appropriate business and/or vendor requirements or terms and conditions to draft contract within template.

  • Utilize appropriate judgment to draft contract when approved template not available and work with legal to obtain approval.

  • Actively participate in negotiation with suppliers on behalf of internal stakeholders.

  • Makes appropriate recommendations to legal and/or organization leadership as needed.

  • Interact with business owners throughout contract process; ask appropriate questions, provide guidance on Express Scripts contract terms and conditions, gain clarification on business requirements and appropriately determine when an exception is required to terms and conditions.

  • Regularly interacts with legal team for review and approval of contracts.

  • Submit contracts for review by legal and provide answers to pertinent questions.

  • Utilize legal guidance to negotiate contracts with suppliers.

  • Complete special contract related projects as needed.
