Sr. Buyer

Seeking candidates with a high-level of professionalism, strong verbal communication skills, contract experience in merger and acquisitions extremely valuable


  • Manage procurement work queue; requesting quote and placing purchase orders
  • Strong relationships skill supporting internal customers timeline and deliverables
  • Evaluate supplier performance over contractual term(s)
  • Provide execution support of selected contract rationalization opportunities with key suppliers
  • Identify strategic supplier contract improvement opportunities.
  • Provide, communicate, and implement effective sourcing approaches that meet organizational goals
  • Manage negotiation of contract terms (with Legal assistance) including pricing and volume discounts
  • Research current state contracts, inventories, costs, and future state requirements in support of sourcing and negotiation strategies that drive value capture
  • Analyze data to support effective contract approaches with fact based options
  • Coordinate with internal IT Asset Management personnel for capture of data and for communication of contracting results


  • 8-10 years of IT procurement experience required, preferably in the technology and engineering industry
  • 4 - year business degree required, supply chain management degree or background a plus
  • Experience managing IT procurements through Requests for Quotes and Purchase order execution
  • Experience placing IT procurement supporting moderately complex software procurements
  • Experience interfacing and working with suppliers; including major negotiations for hardware and software agreements
  • Experience working for a large company with $1B+ sales required
  • Great communication and analytical skills required
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and process improvement skills
  • Adapts quickly, independent and ability to make immediate impact

Experience with ERP Procurement Systems such as Oracle R12 preferred
