Department Summary


The Brand & Firm Communications Department promotes the understanding of the firm's mission, core values and strategies by leading firm messaging, communicating effectively and partnering with business areas to ensure information is delivered to the right people, through the right channels at the right time



  • Manage and strengthen communication channels for internal audiences

  • Align firm messages to help branch teams better serve clients

  • Improve communication to branches and home office


Responsibility Summary



  • Organize, design, write and publish web and visual content supplied by business areas

  • Ensure content is consistent, concise, accurate and easy to use

  • Analyze feedback from end users and work with subject matter experts to improve site content and usability

  • Adhere to internal and external web page and presentation design standards and principles for web and presentation/meeting content

  • Expand knowledge of web technologies, systems, business areas and design principles

  • Support, train and guide other less experienced authors

  • Promote and maintain mutually beneficial and collaborative relationships across departments and divisions


Daily Activities



  • Contractor will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment collaborating with team and business areas to meet daily publishing deadlines.

  • Contractor will work closely with communication specialists to design, edit and publish web or presentation content in accordance with publishing standards and web/presentation design principles.

  • Contractor may also be utilized to complete various intranet-related tasks.

  • Contractor graphic design skills may be used to create PowerPoint presentations, icons, design templates, info graphs or other visual presentations.

  • Contractor should be able to work autonomously in ambiguous situations and deliver on short deadlines.


Training



  • Contractor will be provided training on the various publishing technologies and web development tools but should have experience in web and visual design, technical and publishing functionality, including photo or design editing.


Position Requirements


Required



  • Minimum two years of experience in website/content development

  • Experience in design or web graphics

  • Strong written communication skills; Ability to produce clearly written, succinct information that flows logically and is grammatically correct

  • Strong verbal communication skills; Must be able to collaborate with subject matter experts to create useful, usable web content for the firm's intranet

  • Proficiency with Photoshop, HTML, Adobe Acrobat or alternative content development/editing software

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel

  • Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in English, technical writing, journalism, web/graphic design or related field(s) preferred

  • Proficiency in Oracle, Stellent or other content management system or web publishing system
